LECOM Health on Monday held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand opening of Parkside at Corry, a new $8.6 million independent living facility located on the campus of Corry Memorial Hospital.
The three-story, 42,000-square foot facility boasts 39 one- and two-bedroom apartments, each with a fully equipped kitchenette. The building has a secure entry system and is pet friendly.
According to LECOM Health officials, Parkside at Corry residents will have access to three community rooms, on-site laundry facilities and storage units, and on-call maintenance personnel. Utilities are included and optional housekeeping services are available.
The facility was designed to promote residents to participate in a variety of activities and programs that encourage personal growth and healthy lifestyles.
Parkside at Corry is southeastern Erie County's only independent living facility. It is the third LECOM Health facility on the Corry Memorial Hospital campus, joining the hospital and the Corry Rural Health Clinic. A covered walkway connects the apartment building and the hospital, giving residents 24-hour access to primary care essentially right outside their front doors.
The facility was originally scheduled to open in spring 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic caused the project to be delayed several months.
Residents will begin moving into the new facility starting December 1.
