ERIE, PA (Mar. 10, 2021)

Plastikos Inc. has announced that construction of Phase II of its Plastikos Medical plant, a new 30,000 ft² medical production facility, will begin this month. The Erie PA based company completed the first building in its medical business in 2019 and has added 10 medical injection molding machines since then.

Plastikos to double size of medical manufacturing operation.

The second building will more than double the size of the current ISO-7 cleanroom to 24,000 ft² to accommodate an additional 15 medical injection molding machines to meet increased demand from the medical sector of its business. Phase II will include multiple sophisticated dust and contaminate-free clean rooms with an extensive mechanical system.

Akron Rebar Company has been contracted by construction ally EE Austin & Son to fabricate and install in excess of 100 tons of structural reinforcement steel through it’s labor company Akron Erectors Inc. Rebar placement is set to begin mid-April and the anticipated completion of the overall project is mid-2022.
